This Jimmy is in beautiful condition and drives tight and smooth. The colors are stunning and bright with a touch of retro. I bought it from the original California owner in 2007. It is an absolute blast to drive gets a ton of looks. This truck has all the fun of the older ones with all the upgrades of the newer ones.
I converted it to look like a 1973-1975 with all original GM parts. The "A" pillars were NOT cut, the donor windshield "Cap" was trimmed out and welded in exactly as GM installed it. The bedside top rails were trimmed and welded in to close the area. The doors on the 73-75 units had special brackets inside to reinforce the outer skin and the top cap area and they were added on this truck as well. I had also added a 2"x 4" rectangular steel tube to reinforce the floor to door hinge and door jam area which can be seen in the photos. The truck has no rust and has all the original sheet metal and it is wearing the original GM copper colored paint down below, yes that is still original and very shiny! This is very much a survivor. The cream color was repainted due to the top conversion work. The doors, hood and tailgate open and close perfectly. The hard top is included with it. This truck has only been off road a few times and very lightly on forest roads with no radical trails.
What has been replaced on this truck is the carpet, dash pad, driver's seat upholstery, glass, glass lift motors and door belt weather strips. The new mechanical items on it are: four new leaf springs, shocks, driveshafts, steering drag link, brake calipers and hoses, radiator, hoses and heater core, the 700R4 transmission was rebuilt in 2015 for preventative maintenance as were the cylinder heads. The A/C was rebuilt with a new compressor, lines, front condenser and R134 refrigerant which makes it very cold. The original stereo was replaced with a 2001 GM AM-FM CD player which fits right in and plugs right in. It also has a new fuel pump and filter added. The truck is turn key and cross country ready. I will be adding a driving video on Saturday morning.
