The 1973 Triumph TR6 was a highly developed mid-price British
Sports Car... Certainly, highly developed vs its British brethren
of the 50's and 60's!! It offered great styling; true sports car
performance and handling; some actual creature comforts: a peppy
2.5L 6-cylinder engine; and most of all reliability. The TR6 began
production as a 1969 Model in September of 1968 with US
introduction taking place in January 1969. The last TR6 left the
factory in July 1976. There were close to 92,000 produced with
approximately 83,000 of them being exported to the US. While truly
a British sports car, it was immensely popular in the US.
Construction of the TR6 was traditional body on frame with
four-wheel independent suspension, front disc brakes and rear drum
brakes. The TR6 featured a four-speed manual transmission. Other
notable features included were aluminum semi-trailing arm
independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, pile carpet
on floors and trunk, bucket seats, full instrumentation, as well as
15-inch wheels. It was and still is quite a package. So...are you
looking for a great British Car? Eastern Shore Classic Cars has
just the car for you. This '73 Triumph TR6 has been driven and
loved by its 3rd (current) owner for the past 12 years. During that
time, in addition to enjoying it as it was meant to be, this car
has been treated to refurbishment over the past several years that
falls just short of a full restoration. The pictures show all of
the appearance upgrades. The rest of the story is the many
improvements made mechanically to enhance performance and
drivability. The list is impressive. The owner has kept meticulous
records of normal maintenance and upgrades. This car shows 32,096
miles on the clock, and it appears reasonable based on the
condition of the car even before upgrades were undertaken. However,
the true mileage is unknown. In terms of appearance projects, the
car was completely repainted in a gorgeous green/blue color - not
an original Triumph color, but one that fits the car well. No body
work was required when this was done. It has a completely new
interior including upholstery and carpet Apr 2019; a new top; new
seats; new dash; LED running and interior lights; new radio with
USB input port. In terms of mechanics the list is equally
impressive, all done locally by a well know sports car shop.
Additions, replacements, or upgrades include Mini Mag wheels and
tires June 17, Koni shocks front and rear; new gas tank; new
stainless-steel exhaust; new battery. The biggest value addition
was a complete engine rebuild within the past 2000 miles. It was
done right!! A performance cam was installed; a new header; triple
weber carburetors; new alternator; new clutch. Many original parts
were saved and are part of the sale if the buyer wants them.
Everything has been done to make this car look great and go down
the road as a true sports car should. As with any older car, we
recommend that any prospective buyer arrange with us to see the car
in person, or to send a qualified representative to report back on
its condition. It is being sold as is where is. Located in Danbury,
CT. For just $18,000 you could be driving this Beautiful Triumph
