For Sale: 1920 Indian Scout in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

STK 3574 1920 Indian Scout

The durable Indian Scout was built from 1920 until 1949. It became a mainstay of the Allied forces during WWII. This fully restored 1920 Scout is an outstanding example of a first-generation model. The bike is said to have been restored in the 1980's and is very much original in most all respects. The frame, tank and other body work were carefully refinished in original Classic Burgundy w/gold trim and the headlight is a handsome re-creation that was hand-made. There are foot-boards, fine bars, a luggage rack and a rear wheel stand. The Scout is powered by a 610cc motor that is a 2-cylinder, side-valve, 42-degree V-twin design. It had an estimated output of 10HP, is believed to have never been rebuilt, and runs great. A 3-speed transmission with right hand tank-shift uses a gear-drive primary system and right-side final chain drive. The 20" wire wheels/tires utilize the 'clincher' sealing design. Mechanical drum braking is rear-only and the frame is fitted with a leaf spring 'trailing-arm' front suspension and 'hardtail' rear. Dry weight of the Scout is only 315 lbs. and the height of the sprung leather seat is 28". Without question, this is a wonderful example of a classic Indian motorcycle that has received a careful restoration. It belongs in your Indian collection. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
